Powder Puff Football!

      Eighth grade girls participating in the Powder Puff football game watched a movie called Radio, a film about the hardships of football and life.

     The 8th grade girls will be divided into two teams and play against each other September 29th during the second half of the school day.

     The Powder Puff game is a flag football game and will be played at Putnam Stadium.

8th Grade Girls' Basketball

     Ashland Middle School's 8th grade football players, Gunner Collins, Baron Ratliff, Tate Ashby and Jai Highley are four of the standout football players on the team.

     On Tuesday, August 29th, these 8th grade boys and their team took a victory against Lawrence County by a score of 33-6. Gunner Collins and Baron Ratliff scored a total of four touchdowns between the two of them.

     "I will play football as long as I can," stated Jai Highley.

     The girls' eighth grade basketball team won its seventh straight game by defeating East Carter 35-23. Shaelyn Steele, a sixth grade student, led the Kittens with eleven points.

     Kathan Baer scored ten points sand Mikayla Martin added eight points to keep the kitten in first place in the Ohio Valley Conference.

     With the scored tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter, the East Carter Raiders outscored the Kittens 9-5 in the second quarter to take a halftime lead of 15-11.

     Kaythan Baer made two consecutive three-point baskets and Shaelyn Steele scored two goals to propel the Kittens to a 27-19 lead after three quarters.

     In the fourth quarter, Baer hit another three-point basket and Steele scored three more points to put the game away for Ashland.

     The eighth grade Kittens return to actions on September 21st to take on the Rowan County Vikings. This game will be "Eighth Grade Night" and all eighth grade players will be honored before the game.

AMS Soccer.

     The Ashland MIddle School Soccer season is well under way!

     With a team composed primarily of sixth and seventh graden's.

     Coach John Leistner is looking to his eighth grade players for leadership.

     Marco Aguilar, Santiago Gutierrez, Parker Miller, Nicholas Pierce, and DJ Williams are the eighth grade players.

     There are fifteen sixth grade players and Seventh players from the seventh grade.

     Come out and support AMS Soccer.
